BTW, did you see The Antiques Road Show this week? They feature a rare Bible written in the Dakota (American Indian) language. I thought that was very interesting. The guy that translated the old Bible was a Presbyterian. I wished I had it for my collection, but then thought I shouldn't covet. :medium-smiley-010:

Wow...that's really cool. I'd be conflicted simply because I don't speak Dakotan. I'd still love to see it though.

I collect Bibles, mostly in English and have about 50 different translations. I would have loved to just touch, look and read (without comprehension..., must be in tongues) that Bible for a few minutes.

:bigthink:

Actually that would be sorta cool...just to roam about and look at collections. Not own them or attempt to ( unless the collection was in danger of being destroyed )...just enjoy them with the owners. Might even lead to a Gospel conversation. Owning a Bible certainly doesn't make one a Christian.

Nor does being a textual critic. I am amazed that there are actually people who dedicate their entire adult lives to studying the Bible..., and aren't Christian. How can that be? http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_19_2.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYYYUS)

Got me brother...same reasoning I suppose that atheists hang out on Christian boards debating something they don't believe in...passionately.
