Looking at pictures of the US Presidents and their wives, I wasn't sure if this was Ulysses Grant or his wife. I opted for the second option and just figure good ol' Ulysses married for her good looks alone..., and the fact that he had a harness that fit her and she could pull two plows at once.

Knowing that there was a substantial base of polygamist Mormons in the Utah and Texas constituencies, Mr. Ford needed to increase his popularity, so he had Mrs. Ford do her hair so she could win the females in those cults over to boost his image.

No one ever suspected that Mrs. Wilson was really Babe Ruth, but he had to hide out once in awhile in order to get away from the negative press. This is why he never spoke in public while hiding in the White House, as his beer-swigging-cigar-smokers voice would have given him away.
