Joe got so desperate for that new study Bible that he saw in the window of McGinty's five and dime, that he decided to do back alley hold-ups to raise the money to buy it. He never thought just to go over to Mcginty's five and dime and steal it right out from under his nose, and he was fearful of getting caught if he broke in at night, because ol' man McGinty had a shot gun and slept on the second floor of his store.
