My Dad was a pretty strong Republican all of the time I can remember him. Out of no where he supported JFK, which is a real paradigm departure for him. I don't think he liked Nixon much, even when he was President. The first time I remember my Dad crying bitterly was when he watch JFK's funeral on TV and his casket was pulled through Washington on a horse drawn cart. I can remember those pictures most vividly and my Dad weeping in what he thought at the time was the beginning of the end of our country. Perhaps he was right.
