If it all ends tomorrow, we'll know we believed in vain.
BTW, folks said the same thing about the atom bomb when it was first tested. Come to think about..., a lot of folks said that the end of the world was going to happen and it didn't.
I'll talk to you on Thursday. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_1_138.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYYYUS)

Well...according to the article they won't start playing pool until next month. Or perhaps more accurately proton chicken. :BubbleGum:

Q: What will they find when they "bang" two protons together at near light speed?
A: That they will break into pieces. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_34.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYYYUS)

You know...I like science. It's some of the people who practice science that worry me. There is this attitude that they *must* do it now without understanding completely what it might do. Best guesses kill people. Best guesses at this level kills lots of people.
Also the thought process is kind of disturbing to me. It's the same as "Let's take a finely tuned automobile, smash it into another one, sweep up the pieces and try to reconstruct what they were before the crash."

God gave us the intelligence to do stuff like this...even if it is warped and twisted. I'm sure glad HE knows what He's doing.

I'm sure glad HE knows what He's doing.
And I suspect He is the One that keeps us from completely and utterly destroying ourselves.
And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. (Matthew 24:22 KJV)
Probably when it's all over. And we know about things from His perspective. We'll say to each other, "God was truly merciful and longsuffering toward us."

Agreed...and I'm grateful that He's merciful and longsuffering toward us now as well. That entire wheat and tare thing gives me the willies.

I don't get it- what's this particle accelerator got that the others aint got? And, if big bang were true, how the heck did particles smash together in the singularity?
It's a religion I tell ya.

It's a man thing. If some one has a little particle accelerator his neighbor has to build a bigger one. If someone makes a mini-black hole, another guy has to make a bigger one. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_6_1.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYYYUS)

It really boils down to base presuppositions doesn't it? What one holds to be axiomatic truths? Dr. Cornelius was right. The basis of so much modern science seems to be unprovable ideas that the scientists assume to be true.

Reminds me of...
One day a group of scientists got together and decided that man had come a long way and no longer needed God. So they picked one scientist to go and tell Him that they were done with Him.
The scientist walked up to God and said, “God, we’ve decided that we no longer need you. We’re to the point that we can clone people and do many miraculous things, so why don’t you just go on and get lost.”
God listened very patiently and kindly to the man and after the scientist was done talking, God said, “Very well, how about this, let’s say we have a man making contest.”
To which the scientist replied, “OK, great!”
But God added, “Now, we’re going to do this just like I did back in the old days with Adam.”
The scientist said, “Sure, no problem” and bent down and grabbed himself a handful of dirt.
God just looked at him and said, “No, no, no. You go get your own dirt!”

Yep, we're still here and God is still God.
And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. (1 Kings 19:12 KJV)
I think some folks minds are so busy with their own business..., they never hear that still small voice.

They will not try smashing particles until next month.
If the world were to end in one month, how would you spend you last month?

Well if we knew for sure it was going to end in one month, I think most folks would eat, drink and be merry right up to the minute and then get serious.
I guess what I would do is pretty much the same as I do now. Plus..., be more loving and patient to my family as we prepare for that day.
I wonder what Noah felt like when he faced the end of the world by flood. Probably a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach when it came time, thinking of all the lives that should have been saved.

Yeah, now that probably would be the kicker there. Course, I guess on the other hand, we would have confidence that God achieved His purpose. It'd still be hard, though. We might get a taste of what Jesus felt when He lamented...Jerusalem, Jerusalem I would have gathered you (much paraphrasing there).

I am confident that nothing would deter the purpose of God, and if some disaster does come about from this, it will be for a greater purpose that would work good to those that love Him.
I think of that deep sorrow of Christ, as He was rejected by His fellow country-men and those He knew as He grew up. I am truly waiting for the day when the Jews will be brought back into a covenant relationship with YAHWaH when YAHshua will be seen as the Savior.

After a hundred years of telling people "It's gonna rain...repent" and being ( drawing from external sources ) mocked for it I'm fairly certain that Noah wasn't thinking of the lives that "should" have been saved brother. Still...the memories of that day were enough to drive him to plant an entire vineyard and get ( what patience! ) blotto. And of course THAT went on to cause other issues.

I know I don't rejoice in the death of other's, even my enemies, that was the thinking behind my comment. Every soul in hell is a soul lost forever, if they have mocked me for a thousand years it is a sad thing for me to comprehend. I think of this time on earth as just a flash compared to the thought of something eternal and forever. And I do agree that Noah had some issues.

Agreed Brother...I wonder how it will be for us when every tear is wiped away? I don't believe we will forget. Eh...we'll see. Good enough.
