I came across this picture today, it is a horrible example of how humanity can be the most ungodly cruel to each other. He is a victim of Nazi's who have burned him to death in the concentration camps of World War 2, I assume him to be a Jew. When I looked at this in the first instance these verses came to mind as I notice his hand clutching something that looked like some straw.
May we (humanity) never forget this atrocity done to those under the tyranny of the Nazi's, and may we never again repeat it although there have been many things done like this since.
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. (1 Corinthians 3:11-15 KJV)
