It was with a lot of thought that the Regents approached the LDS on LAD. On the one hand we didn't want to censor them, and on the other we have a commitment to the LAD Members* to keep LAD a place of fellowship and Christian thought. I do hope that there is a fair place to allow discussion to happen with them, and I do sincerely pray for them and hope God will lead them into and prosper them in His kingdom. We apologize to all for not acting quicker, as this lead folks on, but I have to say we were hopeful in the chance of dialog in the beginning.
With that said, it became obvious to us that what was developing was what so often happens in these types of forums. There is a polarization effect and people are driven to their party's and sects opinions. Very rarely is there a change of opinion and most often the same subjects are gone over time and time again, without being resolved. We decided it was best for LAD to not accommodate these types of discussions and focus more upon what the LAD vision and goal is about.
I do appreciate the new Christian users that came here in recent days and ask that you will stay and take part in discussions that occur here. I have appreciated the tactics of some, who had decided to document their posts and sought to educate with a motivation of love.
Grace and Peace to all.

Ted, the right choices were made. We opened the forum to them with grace, shared Christ, saw the polarization, kicked the dust off and moved the forum forward...

I apologize for my part in the polarization. It's the nature of the beast (debates with LDS). They almost invariably turn that way. It can't seem to be helped, as you found out.
I think you all handled yourselves well.
If you felt any frustration, that is also the nature of the beast. It follows the same pattern. The same LDS folks travel from one Christian site to another, in search for such debates, and which offer the least resistance to their defenses and proselytizing and testimony-bearing. As the debates become more polemic and less apologetic, it quickly degenerates. Lines get crossed, rules get broken, tempers flare, accusations fly, it gets personal. At Concerned Christians, I've banned both LDS and Christians.
I like the agenda of your site. I'll stay in touch.

You have nothing to apologize for Bob, although I do appreciate your saying it. The fact of the matter is it has to turn that way if we are going to do what God has called us to do. There can is no communion between light and darkness, it is plainly stated in scripture.

No problem at all. Actually, we are all hardened CARMites on Sabbatacle (sp.). We knew where it was heading. Everything went as expected. The only thing that I had hoped for was a conversion. There was word that one of them may be questioning their Mormon faith. that is the main reason we let it continue...

Well, who knows, you might have planted a seed. I know I was a tough nut to crack. I even went to Baptist Bible studies and mocked out those poor Baptists, who were very patient and kind with me.
And wouldn't you know it, now I'm a Baptist!
Often we won't know the fruit of our work until the other side of heaven.

A kindergarten teacher gave her class a "show and tell" assignment. Each
student was instructed to bring in an object to share with the class that
represented their religion.
The first student got up in front of the class and said,
"My name is Benjamin. I am Jewish and this is a Star of David."
The second student got up and said,
"My name is Mary. I am a Catholic and this is a Rosary."
The third student got up and said,
"My name is Tammy. I am Baptist, and this is a casserole."
Joke modified for present company.

Gosh, would you rather I was an Anglican agitating for single-gender marriage?

And some people think God doesn't have a sense of humor!
