"Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." John Quincy Adams

A wasted vote is one that is not based upon a heart felt conviction. :bigthink:

Don't vote for the "evil of two lessors", vote for the candidate that represents your moral covictions and world view.

Of those available who do you feel would best represent the Christian world view at this time Ted?

At this moment in time I am considering Charles Baldwin. He is a Christian minister and represents my conscience the best.

The thing that I am convinced about is the the Republicans and Democrats will continue with the same agendas as long as they keep getting elected. The only real option for change is to start now in sending a message and change the ol' boy network that is in place. Both McCain and Obama are Representatives of the ol' boys. Both are rooted into their party's ideologies and neither will offer anything substantially new if elected. More government and more taxes will not help America.

One very important principle is that those who would harm this nation should be prevented from doing so.

Or at least there should be an effort to make sure they are not elected. :medium-smiley-011:

Ted, not sure if you know or not, but the CP is a reactionary party. Their platform (at least in 2004) calls for the executive branch to ignore all laws they deem to be unconstitutional (including the 16th amendment). They also believe that Judial Review (Marbury Vs Madison) is to be ignored as well as all of the supreme court decisions as a result of that.

A vote for CP is a vote for lawlessness (not that they have a chance).

John Quincy Adams asside, I think you can extrapolate Jus Ad Bellum's view that for a war to be just, their must be a reasonable chance for victory, to voting as politics has as much at stake.
At least, that is something to think about.

Where does the idea of two kingdoms come into our voting considerations?

Why must we feel we need a Christian president? Do you have a Christian mechanic for your automobile?

I think Raderag is questioning the CP's submission to authority rather than their Christianity, which begs the question I raised about the American revolution.
