This weekend the host server for LAD, is going to updated to a new location. We are being moved from the computers in Scranton to the computers in Atlanta. This is going to be done without any glitches, I am told, because "we have done it many times".
Is that the famous words of computer wizards?
I know what this means, there will be some down time over the weekend. If for some reason when you come back to LAD on Monday and you are not logged in and things don't seem right, you may have to do that "dump your cookies" routine and refresh the pages when you log on them. The up side to this, is that after this weekend, we are told that we should experience faster loading and quicker responses when we visit LAD. (Remember we were told that fast page loads were not "our fault" a few weeks ago when we were experiencing some slow load times, and now we will get faster. How does all this work?) Also they are doubling our band width, something that we never come close to using as it is.

Ah...the "Server Shuffle" and "Downplay our network issues by increasing bandwidth enough to hide them Waltz". Next should come the "Upping the service charge Cha Cha".

I suspect that to. But, in all honesty, these folks have been really helpful and fair. So I don't want to jump to hard on them.
I guess you are seeing the cynical side of Tallen..., again.

As far as I can tell, the update didn't happen over the weekend. I suspect that there was some trouble of some kind and it is taking longer than they suspected it would.
Of coarse.

Yeah...but better they get it right. /hugs
Oh...just so you and the folks here know my work has decided to move the entire operation down to the opposite end of the building. This is going to be a busy week so I'm not going to be about much.
Blessings,

Apparently I was mistaken. This week will be busy getting scripts done and documenting what I do. Next week will likely be more of the same as well as moving.

It looks like we are now on the new server.
Does anyone notice a difference?

It seems faster when I am at home, but at work it seems about the same. Probably due to the traffic in house, as we have a couple of folks that like listening to web radio.

Where I work, we have a very slow Internet connection, and I would never be able to tell from there.
But here at home I see a difference (so far).
