It is the supposed currency that this hemisphere is going to use in the future. It will replace the currency used by every country in North, Central and South America.

Similar to the Euro...

I don't see how that could happen, maybe the US, Canada and Mexico.

I think it is mostly a silly rumor, but we practically already share a currency with Mexico. The Peso is very highly tied to the dollar since we helped to bail it out in the 80s. Its consistently pegged at 10:1 to 14:1. As Mexico has had more foreign investment, it has been less pegged to the dollar.

Canada's currency has been more or less stronger than the dollar in the last few years.

I agree that Canadian taxes are worse, but there could be a shared currency without the shared taxes. I don't think its a good idea, and doubt that either country would go for it.

Agreed, Canadians do have some pride in the money. And it is pretty to look at to.

Canada's economy is very small compared to ours and even small compared to Mexico.
