Interesting article. So far, from my perspective, I don't see much "change" that has been promised. As Obama has decided to place the ol' cronies in his administration.
What we need to do is elect a brand new bunch, who are intent on doing honest business for the country and know they are working for the people..., not special interest. I am going to give voice to conservative values and work for the party that best represents those values. If the Republican Party gives us another mediocre moderate, I probably will abandoned them altogether.

Even if he wants change, he is too inexperienced to affect it.

Agreed, I think he is learning the lesson that our founders wanted government to realize. That is, the Executive Branch of government stands in tension with the other two branches of government. The President is more in a provocative role than one of policy and law. That is why his own party is not following him in locked step in his economic plan. The problem with this at this moment in time is that the House is full of extreme leftist with a socialist agenda. The President has come from their ranks and has found that he can't be that extreme any more in his role. He has moved more central by necessity.
It's just the way our government is supposed to work.

I don't think the democrats are by in large socialists. I think it is the democratic leadership; many dems won as moderates.

Yeah, I agree. I was thinking more of Pelosi who is the Speaker, and her close crew, who seem to have come against some of the Obama strategy. :bigthink:

I agree again. That is why they will probably overreach.

It is an interesting time in America. And I think we have come to a defining point of future government thinking. I am glad that the Republicans have mostly stood fast and embraced some conservatism. I think it has stopped trouble in the future and has let the Dem's know that they are not going to have a free rain over policy for the next couple of years. A good thing. :BigB:
