I couldn't help but notice the hypocrisy in Obama's health (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090226/ap_on_go_pr_wh/obama_budget_health) care plan. Here's his question:

Obama is asking Congress: If you're going to cover an estimated 48 million uninsured Americans in the world's costliest medical system, how do you pay for it?

Gee whiz, isn't that the question we should've been asking him about the bailouts? Heavenly days.

And here's another little richness factor (http://www.farmpolicyfacts.org/ne_Gross_Sale_Out.cfm). First, 500,000 in sales means absolutely nothing in regards to profit. With expenses rising and sales prices plummeting, 490,000 of those sales could very likely be going to expenses. A most astute observation was made:

"CEO's worth millions who drove their businesses into the ground can get bailed out and still make $500,000 a year, and I'm singled out for selling $500,000 worth of goods."
"Why are people who make bad loans more important than farmers? We can live without sub-prime ARMS, we can't live without food."

Here again, he's showing that he has absolutely no idea how farming (or many other small businesses) works. Sales does not in any fashion equal profit...not ever. I haven't seen the actual proposal, so maybe he does mean profit, but I wouldn't count on it.

Another thing mentioned on NPR the other day was the $3,000 tax deduction for a small business hiring a new employee. Only problem with that is that you have to pay that new employee from 20-30,000 per year. Soooooooo lemme think...it's gonna help us out to have a 3,000 tax cut but have to dish out 17-27,000 more to pay a salary. Riiiggghhhht.

I wanna know who does this guy's bookkeeping. This is basic income/expense info here.

You farmers just don't get it. Just print more money. That's the answer.

If only we could figure out how to use wheat straw and cow manure to make paper pulp, we'd be in business!! :biglol:

I fear that's just where we are heading. What do you think? And do you think if we do start printing money that Obama and the Democrats will suffer the consequences of it (i.e. will it be before reelection?)

I remember printing loads of money in Europa Universalis III (a fairly complex strategy computer game where you govern a nation in the world) to fund my Manchurian expansion into Southeast Asia. I had loads of debt from loans I took out to finance my wars. Suffice to say I learned a very hard lesson about runaway inflation.

Actually, the number is more like 10-15 million. The rest are either illeagel (sp.) aliens or don't want to buy their own insurance.
