lol...I'd never seen a little drift all blown to an overhang like that..not on the vehicle anyway.

Did you have snow recently?
It is cold here in Northern Ireland the last few days again. Hoping for a very hot and sunny summer. LOL Oh well I can still hope. :L38:

Yep, we had snow, ice, and rain over the last 24 hours..lol. Here in Oklahoma, there's an old saying that if you don't like the weather, wait a couple of minutes and it will change...haha. Some of our heaviest snows have been in March and April. I took that picture this morning. And all the snow is melted now except the drifts. It's supposed to be 50 degrees or more tomorrow, and we just got through having a week of 70s and 80s. Our summers are generally very hot in August and September...triple digits many times. However, we also have relatively mild summers more now than we used to.

It can be all sunny and dry by us and yet drive 11 miles and there it is pouring with rain. I found this so strange when I first came to live here.
I guess the warmth of South Africa is always in me, don't mean in my sparkling personality though!!! LOL I just miss our heat and lovely thunder storms.

lol...that sounds like Oklahoma. It varies mile to mile as to whether it's raining or not. I bet Ireland IS a big switch from South Africa! I'm a thunderstorm lover myself, and we have lots of them in the Spring of the year here.
I hear Ireland is just beautiful, though...very green and alive.

It has the most awesome shades of green I have ever seen.
It has been a huge change from sunny South Africa. I was often asked when we first arrived:
do we have television in South Africa?
do all people speak English like you?
have you met a snake?
I used to laugh but I understand why - most people here do not know South Africa is a country on it's own - they think it is just Africa. I am often referred to a the girl from Africa. LOL :L38:

Jo, when I think of South Africa I think of the pictures I have seen of coast and how the cities are built between mountains and the water.
I also think of lions, giraffes, and assorted animals that are strange to Americans.

South Africa has got such different landscapes in each county.
Cape Town is very beautiful and is between mountains and the sea. Same with Durban. These are some of our bigger cities.
I am from Johannesburg and we do have a lot of beautiful scenery with large leafy trees and hot weather. There are quite a lot of game reserves around the further you drive into the country.
Belfast here in Northern Ireland would fit into Johannesburg about 17 times!
I love the mountains, especially the Drakensberg Mountains. If you look them up on the internet you will see some stunning pictures. I climbed to the top of one of the smaller peaks - 2000 metres up. It was awesome. This huge mountain range stretches for miles on end.
By the way I love Montana and still hope to visit the Grand Canyon one day. USA is also so beautiful from the pictures I have seen.

The Drakensberg Mountains remind me of Idaho, very beautiful.
I have been in every state in America except Washington, Hawaii and Alaska. I have walk a trail down into the Grand Canyon, very beautiful as well. But my favorite states are Arizona, New Mexico and Wyoming. I love the deserts and mountains, it is very different than where I live in southern Michigan.
