Another "Little Ice Age"?

It wouldn't surprise me at all. In fact, for the last few years that the big stink about "global warming" has been going on, I've thought more and more about that. According to the records they have, this warming effect precipitated the Little Ice Age, which makes sense if the warmth causes enough influx of fresh water into the ocean current (conveyor current which runs from north to south in a loop in our part of the world), which in turn causes the temperatures to drop. Now with the coupling of the decline in sunspots, it would be much easier to see how the combination of the two would cause the frigid effects.
Just as an observation, out of the last 8 winters we've had 3 ice storms. Two of those caused power outages for weeks on end with extensive destruction to homes, structures, water mains, sewers, and livestock. I'm 52 years old and remember only 1 other time I've seen this--back when I was just a little kid, and even then the power was out for maybe 1 day and the temperatures came right back up. This past winter was worse than the other bad one in '02 in that the temperature stayed well below freezing for about 10 days or more this time. So, I've been thinking about another Little Ice Age for a few years now.
I've been watching our summers, too, and they seem to be off a bit. We have had some triple digit heat already (like today at 102) in June, and that used to be a later summer temp. But we've also had some earlier cooling in the summer, only to go right back and have the triple digits again. I should keep a record just out of curiosity.
And don't you just love the arrogance in this article...we humans are more powerful and have more effect on the earth than the sun. Please. Not that we don't have an effect, but I hardly think we can compete with the sun.

Ha! Ha! Ha! You got that right. Especially in light of the fact that Mars is following the same trend as we see on earth, and I highly doubt that there is any humans effecting it on a plantary wide basis. Personally, I don't think they know much at all about the effects of the sun, the solar cycles, etc., to even make any claim. Your right Terri, man is arrogant.
