I'm not really surprised by this, but it's creepy to ready about it:
CYBER ATTACKS BY CHINA? (http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/08/03/massive-global-cyberattack-targeting-us-un-discovered-experts-blame-china/)

This can be a real problem. Most of the spammers are coming out of China and the old Soviet Block of countries. So it souldn't surprise me if some of the governments are behind attacks like this.

I love technology, but as long as there is darkness in the heart of mankind, it will always also be extremely dangerous. For those who aren't familiar with at least the possibilities of hackers, it can be devastating for them, and this kind of can be devastating for the entire country.

And why we shouldn't place our confidence in technology.
BTW, why is it that hackers would even be able to to hack sensitive information in the first place? Seems that people are getting lazy and need to put a human element back into the loop.

Yeah, I've actually seen more errors rather than less errors with technology at the helm. It takes forever to get it corrected, too. Additionally, we are seeing the effects of a complete lack of understanding in the workforce that there are skills to be mastered, ethics to be familiar with, integrity in all facets of their work, and just a general knowledge of what being an employee is all about.
I was just thinking about this yesterday when I bought something...can't remember what. Anyhow, the change back was 14.50 out of a 20. This gal counts out 14.50 to me to match what the register shows. However, properly done it would be to count forward to the 20...as in the 50 cents to bring it to 15, plus 5 makes it 20. We were taught that kind of thing in school so that we made the connection between intake and outgo. No such animal these days. You can always tell an old school person cause they count back to you in that manner. Plus the fact that we weren't using a cash register that showed what we were supposed to count back....we had to figure it out...quickly and correctly! Very many errors in that exercise and you were out the door.

Yeah, that's a good point. Your right, the work force is suffering..., it is becoming dumber.

That's a good example. Most of the time when I purchase something the person at the register just mindlessly gives me change according to what it tells them. I taught my oldest kids how to count money for change from having a garage sale and letting them take the money. And they learned exactly the way you said above. If the price of something is 3.87 and they get a 5, they start by getting 3 cents, to get to 3.90, then a dime to get to 4.00, then a dollar to get to 5.00. That is how we all use to learn. No mistakes that way and it is easy to do the math with the least amount of change.
Recently going through a fast food lane, the total was something like 5.13. I gave the girl at the window 10.13, so I would get a five back. She didn't know what to do and had to get a manager because she didn't believe me when I told her she could give me 5.00 back. Sheesh!!! I was only trying to help. Things so simple and there is no skill to even do a simple task as basic math.

Creepy, all right. Makes me think that they are trying to bite the hand that feeds them.
