This is a foolproof cobbler recipe that can easily be doubled to make enough for a crowd. Just take a stick of margerine or butter, throw it into a caserole dish and put it into a preheated 350 degree oven. Meanwhile, mix 1 cup self-rising flour, one cup sugar or Splenda, and one cup milk in a bowl. By the time youve got it mixed the butter should be melted or nearly so, take the dish out of the oven and pour the mixture into the dish. Spoon the fruit from one 11 oz can (such as peaches) evenly over the batter, and stick the dish back into the oven. Bake it till its brown- mmm mmm good . Eat hot with a scoop of ice cream.

Hey! That's pretty much the recipe I use. The only difference is that I use regular flour and add baking powder and salt, and I put in a little vanilla too. It IS good, isn't it? My mom gave me that one years ago..even the novice cook can turn out a really great dessert. Man...makes me want to go cook one..lol. The only thing I do a tad different with the fruit is to heat it up (usually peaches which I add a dash of cinnamon and butter to) before I spoon it in.

Sounds good, I suppose it would work with apples to?

I think it would work with anything, maybe even ham. I've used fresh blackberries and rasberries I picked in the woods and it worked well with them. I just distributed the berries raw over the top and it turned out good.
