View Full Version : Why are there always "guests" logged in on LAD?

I have done some research on this, and found out, that because I have included our site into some of the Search Engines that are around, like Yahoo, Google, Ask Jeeves, etc., that those sites query LAD. What happens is that if a person does a search on Google for instance for "eschatology", Google searches the net and finds a post or article on LAD with that word in it. Then it post that to the Gogle search results. Those programs that do this are called Spiders, and they show up as guest on LAD because they log in.

So, lets say, there are 8 members logged on, and 9 quests, probably a some of those guests are Spiders that have searched the site and a some are legitimate guests.

This said to let you know, that what you are posting on LAD can be searched by "others". If it isn't in a restricted area of LAD where special membership is required, there is a good change that someone outside of LAD can read your posts. There are two areas on LAD where that can happen, General Concepts and Christian Concepts.

I will entertain any suggestions about this. :bigthink:
