Apparently, a pretribulationist took my suggestion regarding the straw man tactics of one Hank Hanegraaff.

On December 10, 2007, at seven p.m. at the Grand Sheraton Hotel in Irving, TX, a debate will commence regarding the DATE of Revelation.

Taking the 90 A.D. or later view will be Mark Hitchcock. Taking the pre-70 A.D. view will be Hendrick Hank Hanegraaff.

I will be calling this week to see what tickets cost or what I must do to attend. If I am able to do so, I will attempt to log in and post points as the debate is occurring.

That would be an interesting debate. HHH made some, in my opinion, wrong choices in his book. He tried letting the RCC off the hook. He did not take in to consideration that the Jews who went back to Israel after WW II needed a homeland after what Nazi Germany had done. There was another one. I'll have to remember it.

You know about my own 'unsettled eschatology.' My wife was reading LaHaye's book about the Millennial Kingdom last night and asked me to check out his website.

That's where I found it. Last year they had a debate between someone (I forget who) and Gary DeMar.

It also turns out that several members of my church attend this meeting every year - so I may have an 'inside' track.

Hank's ranting and raving on his radio show to sell books was uncalled for. And I think two things:

1) The date of the book does NOT CONCLUSIVELY settle the issue as most pretribbers wish to say. I used to say this as well but there's a problem since the bulk of Jesus' prophecies were fulfilled BEFORE the four gospel writers wrote their stories.

2) I think Hanegraaff is hardly a 'scholarly' advocate of any position. It actually LOWERS the credibility threshold of LaHaye's group.

That said - I'm looking forward to it.

Anybody wanna go? Joe? I can put you up.

Ted?

I have these debates by ICE and DEMAR.

It is my opinion that DEMAR melted the ICE man. If I were to give a percentage, Demar probably had a 60/40 advantage.

ICE seemed to fumble around a lot and tried to create numerous "motifs".

I would love to. Let me start making plans. Why couldn't it be on a Friday or Saturday??

I wish I could. The problem I have are the lines that moor me to the pier, five of them, ages 3-11.
