Ask him if he can come over and bush-hog the little field behind my house. And, turn over a little vegatable garden space for me. I havn't done the garden thing in a couple of years, and my garden space is new ground again. Maybe we can do a work trade, if he needs some welding or bushings or what not. I'm handy with metal. I know its a few hundred miles travel, but what is that between you and me? :Megamalmer_aah:

Heh heh heh. Shame you all don't live closer. He's a fine welder, but the bushings?..now that might come in handy :wwink:

Ooooooh nice! 12 miles! Wow...that's a pretty good hike. You're in a lot better shape than I am, that's for sure and for certain. Beautiful picture.

Terri, although he is smiling, the ol' man looks tired. A hot bath and a cold lemon aid should do the trick. :medium-smiley-011:

That looks beautiful Trav, I have hiked along the Smokies around Pigeon Forge. As your picture testifies, there is good reason for them to be call Smokies.

Tired isn't the word for it, and this was just mid-day. I've always admired my husband's dedication to getting things done. This was his lunch break ;-)...no lemonaid, but cold tea and hot food...lol.

Then he ain't from up north, because any self-respecting northerner has to have it sweet. :BigB: It's kind of like Grits, try and find them things in Michigan.

Never heard the sweet or naw thing until we visited western Tennessee a few years ago. When my wife ordered tea the waitress said "sweet or naw", and we had a good laugh about it. Up here all tea comes "naw" and then we add the sugar ourselves.

And what about big red barns, Michigan has a million of them. But I don't see them in the south much.

No, we don't have the big red barns...at least not in this neck of the woods. About the only people you see with those are either the dairy farmers or the horse people, and then they are the more modern variety. What most people have around here are either the metal ones or the old wooden ones with just a regular house-type roof. Kinda like the one in my avatar there. That one is no longer in use except for some storage. It's on the way to one of our pastures.
